This mermaid incorporates the beautiful teal green hues of various objects which have been gathered. Included also were a fish platter and seashell jelly molds which were used for her breasts and tummy. My children and I spent the summer placing 2000 pennies on the tracks to be flattened by trains which were used to represent the mermaid's scales. This iridescent beauty also includes cutouts in the mosaic base, allowing natural or artificial light to shine through the various glass pieces, emphasizing the form of the mermaid as she would appear down in the blue depths of the ocean.
