Art pieces can be created for indoors or outdoors, but would need to be specified ahead of time due to different application for materials to withstand outdoor elements.  Art made for indoor use allows a  wider range of materials resulting in more complexity and depth.   Art made for outdoor use, the adhesive is usually cement mortar, applied to cement backer-board and either sealed or marine-grade plywood. 

Please note that most mosaic pieces are heavy and need to be hung with great care.  Always use appropriate weight bearing hardware designed for hanging art.  (I provide weight of piece after completion.)  Always hang on a stud in your wall for extra support.  If in doubt, contact a professional to ensure your art will be hung safely. Take care not to bang or drop.  If treated properly this art can last lifetimes!  Wipe with a soft dry cloth to clean.                                                                                                                      

Recommended: Keep art containing photographs out of direct sunlight.
