2007 - Indoor - 1.5' X 4.5'

Medium:  Vitreous glass, stain glass, glass gems, safety glass, mirror, brass, brass zills, beads, belly dance coins, fabrics, found objects, wood, paint, peacock feathers, ephemeras, photos, confetti, glitter.

Inspiration:  This piece was commissioned for a belly dancer (a Christmas surprise from her husband).  She loves the seduction of the dance, is a cat fanatic and embraces her role as a mother and a wife. When combining all of these interests and a trip to an East Indian fabric shop, the creative process was so much fun including being able to design and embellish my own costume!  This brought back memories of dressing up paper dolls with my sisters when we were children!  Photos and memories of her family are woven into the belly dancer's skirt.
