Inspiration: On our farm we have planted many fruit trees, berries, vegetables and flowers and have become quite alarmed in the past two or three years how few honey bees there are in the spring during the flowering stages, which is critical in order for pollination to occur.  Without pollination we have no fruit or berries.  A local beekeeper was very generous in supplying a temporary hive in our orchard which ended up saving our fruit crop for that year- thank you Derek!  Across Europe and the Americas , bees are flying off to collect nectar but not coming back. This startling loss threatens the natural world - and human food production.  By educating ourselves, stop using pesticides, eat organically, and plant food sources for the honey and native pollinators we can help these necessary insects when they need it the most.
